The Ploughing Match
Perhaps considered the competition mostly closely related to farming, the ploughing match allows both young farmers and members of the public to see who can plough the best. With around 40 tractors on average each year competing in the competition and also a corn and root show along side with homemade and grown produce and flower arrangements there is plenty for everyone.

Brodie Brick
Bedfordshire Young Farmers also have a competition known as the Brodie Brick. Donated by one of the ex Beds Young Farmers the Brodie brick is designed to encourage clubs to challenge each other to a different competition in order to gain the procession of the Brodie Brick.Throughout the year different clubs and county hold some parties, balls or social events which allow members from different clubs to get to know each other.

Rally...

Hosted by a different club every year and consisting of around 180 different classes including stock judging, flower arranging, cookery, handicrafts and skills classes, the Rally is by far the biggest competition in the YFC calendar year.

It consists of three days of competitions:
1) Pre Rally Day - Crafts and Visual Classes such as Cheerleading
2) Stock Judging and Tug of War Day
3) Rally Day - Flower, Cookery, Handicrafts and Skills Classes

At the end of Rally day each club lines up in the main ring with their decorated float and participate in a flour and water fight.

Socials...

Throughout the year members attend many different balls, parties and other social events.
