Winter Sports Competition

This years Winter sports competition was rounders for under 16 years, netball and football.

After a very wet morning and unfortunately having to cancel the rounders the over 16 girls got started on their netball and the boys on their football matches.

Overall the boys made it through to the final and after extra time and still no goals it went to golden ball time against Biggleswade Young Farmers. Luckily Andrew Redman for Silsoe managed to get a goal in and the boys were awarded first place.

The girls who, despite not having such great success as the boys , had a good time and now know and understand the rules of netball (Faye)

Ploughing Match and Farm and Garden Produce Show

Earlier this month Leighton Buzzard Young Farmers hosted the County Ploughing Match and Farm and Garden Produce Show in Eaton Bray.

The day consisted of conventional and reversible ploughing classes, main ring events and entries in the produce show of carrots, autumn berries and homemade jams, chutney and flavoured liquors to name a few.

A number of new members enter items into the show as well this year and Sophie in particular had great success in the classes she enter with 3 first places :)

Silsoe also had 4 ploughmen who entered the ploughing classes all who ploughed with a conventional plough.

Whilst the ploughing was going on there was a few visual classes going on too...

After the ploughing there was a few main ring events for members to get involved in.

At the end of the day Silsoe came away with 6 trophies and were given the Trophy for the overall Winners of the Ploughing Match and Garden Produce Show.
