Autumn at YF...

Here's a quick look at the last 3 months .....

September started with the newly elected officers attending training to learn about what to expect in the year to come...

Our first official meeting of the new year was Pilates....

It was then time for the first competition of the year, this was of course the Ploughing Match...

The club went home with all these trophies, well done to everyone involved :)
During October it was new members week  playing table Tennis... we had over 10 new members attend :)

Winning Duo of the night was brothers Jake and George who beat the older boys Tom and Andrew. Well done Boys!!

We also had a trip to Tuckwells in Maulden in October and was treated to a great fireworks night hosted by Woburn Young Farmers.

On the 1st November the older members enjoyed a visit to the Warner Edwards Gin Distillery too...

Our first Fundraiser of the Year was Reindeer Making ... So far we have raised £300 for the  East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Then of course the sausage and Beer Fest held for the 2nd year saw over 300 people attend to hear the music of Kody Lake and Duke Box, the girls were serving up sausage and mash for the guests as they drunk from their steins. Great night had by all especially Daisy the Cow!

We have also had some recent success in competitions with Tom Harwood coming 3rd in the Senior Member of the Year competition and Alice Redman 2nd.

Also Today George attended the Winter Stock show at the East of England Show with his lamb and was placed 3rd overall.

Crab Football

So last night was the first week back to Young Farmers and we had almost 30 members attend (including 5 new members). Unfortunately our original plan of a  microbakery didn't happen ... so we decided to have a go at crab football instead!! ⚽️⚽️

Bacon Ball

Being a young farmer is not just about attending the weekly meetings or participating in the competitions, there is also a huge social side to be a young farmer!

Back in April a group of over 20 Silsoe members attended a charity ball to support sophie (one of our Silsoe members).

The ball raised in excess of £15,000 for charity!

A few pictures are below ....

Art evening

Back in April Silsoe were treated to an evening of art with our very own Tommy H. (Silsoe Chairman)

Members were taught how to turn their stick men into real drawings and the pictures were judged and winners received prizes!
